We are a friendly, enthusiastic practice with a long history of successful training.

There are 9 doctors working at the surgery.

Jenny Barnes and Rosalind Marwaha are also Training Programme Directors.

All the doctors and staff are actively involved and feel very enthusiastic about GP training.

The practice is a well organised and fully computerised with EMIS Computer system.  We have a spacious and attractive purpose built premises.  The facilities and equipment provided for our registrars are of a very high standard.

You will have your own consultation room which is fully equipped with a digital camcorder etc. We have internet access from every computer.

The services provided by the practice include all chronic disease management clinics, minor surgery, coil insertion, Implanon implants, smoking cessation, travel clinics, joint injections etc.

There are regular educational meetings held within the practice as well as clinical meetings, IT meetings, palliative care meetings and QOF contract meetings. We also regularly invite external speakers (usually Consultants) to educational meetings within the practice.

The doctors within the surgery are all encouraged to develop special interests.

The Registrar timetable has protected educational time and a personal study half day.

Feedback from previous Registrars has always been extremely positive.

Abbey Medical Centre provides a motivated and approachable team of doctors, nurses and practice staff in high standard facilities who are keen to help you get the most out of the GP training experience.

We welcome visits from prospective training doctors.
